Stocking Painkalac Reservoir

8 Dec 2017 11:08 AM - A brand-new recreational fishery in the making!
On Dec 5th Victorian Fisheries Authority stocked 7,000 estuary perch into Painkalac Reservoir with help from none other than Paddy Dangerfield himself!

Located in the state’s south-west, near Aireys Inlet, the Reservoir has been recently opened to the public for recreational use, including fishing.

Estuary perch are a native fish commonly found in Victorian estuaries. They’re a fantastic sport fish that are keenly sought after by anglers.

The Victorian Fisheries Authority teamed up with Barwon Water to develop Painkalac into a great fishery and increase fishing opportunities for locals and visitors in the area. Further stockings of EPs are planned to occur annually.

It’s all part of the State Government’s Target One Million plan to get more people fishing, more often and grow participation!

Fantastic to have another fishery developing for our local anglers to explore.
